About US

Traditional Roasted.
We roast with traditional drums, roasting only a maximum of 20 kg or less at once. This is really special and rare in todays industry. The roasting takes up to 20 minutes.

Our
Coffee.
Through our gentle long-term drum roasting, removing more moisture from the coffee, protecting the beans allowing us to evenly roast, not burn, helping us to produce exceptional premium tasting coffee.

Our
Taste.
It's so good, you can taste the difference straightaway. No bitter aftertaste, smooth full flavours, gentle on digestion. With an added extra health benefit. Most of our clients tell us they do not need to add any sugar or sweeteners to our coffee.
Concrete Coffee UK founder
I have over 25 years in the entertainment, events and hospitality industry. I have been a coffee lover most of my adult life, however when I gave up drinking alcohol many years ago, coffee became an even bigger part of my life.
As a DJ and music producer travelling the world, I have been lucky enough to experience the coffee culture in so many different locations. Each country I arrive to, I would drop my bags to my hotel and then go discover what the local coffee shops had to offer. I love the community aspect that coffee creates but also how it gives me the personal space to slow down for 20 minutes and just enjoy the personal time.
I have tasted coffee from all over the world now, many beans, blends and roasts and when the world came to a stop and the lockdowns began several years ago, I concentrated on brewing at home, trying many different coffees and decided I wanted to take this passion further.
So, over a period of many months, I experimented with numerous beans and blends, however I never quite found that sweet spot, that perfect blend of aroma and taste which set my senses on fire.
Then, in the Summer of 2023, it happened. A very good friend of mine from Germany was over in the UK preforming at a festival and brought me over a sample of his coffee blends from his roastery in Mannheim, Concrete Coffee.
The next morning, I went home and tried Concrete Coffee for the first time. I was blown away; it was the best coffee I had ever tasted. As an espresso drinker you become quite attuned to coffee flavours, the good and the bad. The first thing I noticed was the aroma of the beans was incredible, next the taste of the roast was outstanding. Full smooth flavours, no bitter aftertaste, no acid reflux, gentle on digestion with a sustained lift, calm clarity and focus with no big crash. To say I was impressed would be an understatement, I knew this was the coffee I had been searching for.
The very next day I contacted him and said I wanted to bring this coffee to the UK, Ireland and then the world. Over several months of calls, emails and negotiations, I flew to Germany to visit the roastery and we signed our deal, becoming partners.
When I got back from Germany, I began a series of focus groups with coffee lovers and the results were impressive. There was literally no negative feedback; even some of the more picky aficionados were loving the blends. Two blends, in particular, were standing out; The Balanced Blend 50/50 Composition: 50% Arabica / 50% Robusta and the Fuego Composition: 20% Arabica / 80% Robusta.
I knew these were my two main blends, so I went to the next phase, finding a shop or business that’s serving lots of coffee, to trial these blends in the UK.
Here’s where the award winning, YourGym in Lytham comes in. I love fitness and have been training most of my adult life, so I approached my gym owners to trial my coffee. Perfect situation, with a large membership and decent café, it was the ideal platform to get even more tasting and feedback.
The response was immediate and so positive, that the owners of the gym took Concrete Coffee on full time. Shortly after, we decided to open a Concrete Coffee Roasters together at the site, with an expansion of the gym and a brand new coffee shop opening by the end of March.
We have teamed up with world class Rocket Espresso and Pro Espresso to kit out Concrete Coffee Roasters in Lytham with state of the art Rocket equipment to allow us to deliver the best coffee to our customers and growing community moving forward.
Our green coffees
In the Chikmagalur region, only the most ripe berries are carefully picked by hand, their outer shell is removed and the Arabica beans are then subjected to a lengthy fermentation process before being washed with natural stream water.
This brings an extraordinary taste that inspires even the most demanding coffee connoisseur.
In addition to their taste, the Robusta beans also impress with their special preparation. During the ship transport to Europe, the coffee changed its original bean shape, colour, size and taste due to climatic fluctuations.
Nowadays, farmers use the monsoon to produce the same effect. In the Malabar region, which is known for its excellent natural resources, the moist monsoon atmosphere changes the coffee beans so that they produce an incomparable soft cup.
On the Indian Malabar coast, the Monsooning Process was discovered, a unique coffee bean treatment with the special flavour and mildness.
The warm monsoon rain cleanses and rinses the Robusta beans, whereby the coffee loses much of its acidity and therefore tastes particularly mild.
Despite this mildness, the beans still retain their spicy taste and full aroma.
The Robusta beans are now exposed to the winds and moisture on the mainland, no longer in wooden sailing ships to water.
On ventilated cement floors of small warehouses, the best beans are stacked 10 – 15 cm thick.
Here, the humidity can reach them well, so that they swell and their colour changes to the typical yellow brown.
After that, the beans are loosely filled into jute bags and stacked with sufficient space between them.
So the monsoon can continue to circulate around them.
